I have been having great fun with a friend lately. We have decided to set up a new business selling stationery. She is fantastic at making cards and invitations and so I have encouraged her to try to sell her talents rather than just doing things for family and friends. She is no business woman though and so I have taken on the role of sales person for her. I have been showing examples of her work at my office for example and trying to get people to use her services. I recently got someone ordering 50 save the date cards and that was a fantastic success. They told a lot of people about the good service that they got and generated some business by way of some baby shower invitations. She has even been asked to do some samples of party invitations for a local independent party shop, so that they can decide if they want to sell them. I am so pleased that things are doing well for her as she is getting more and more business through word of mouth and soon my sales skills may not be needed and I will just help out with the invoicing and accounts which is another area she hates dealing with.
